to all who made my time in bay awesome…

this has been the best vacation in bay so far…this despite all the ups and downs…

strangely enough i did not shoot that much film in bay…4 rolls…gave 6 rolls of film to the lab today…

i also got bored of digi pretty soon in bay…luckily the last few days gave the best frames of the trip…as usual…ALWAYS CARRY YOUR CAMERA

it was blast to be home and spend time with my family and friends…sadly i turn into the most lazy ass as soon as i step foot in my house in bay…

the return trip was also exciting…on my way from Helsinki to Stockholm…the pilot announced that due to a sudden drop in oil pressure we would have to turn back…nice…landed and we were surrounded by half a dozen fire trucks…

goto Oslo…bought a burger from Stat Oil…as usual…got home…which now feels empty without my Austrian mates…and then it started pouring cats and dogs…

I am level designer or mapper…sadly the last personal map i made was in 2006…

It was about time i made a new one…and i must say…its still as much fun, as it was back in the Quake3 days…

I set myself a goal…to finish the map in 1 day, ie.24 hours.

So after spending 12 hours each on sat and sun…here it is.

Long time no mail from you. Thought you must be busy on someting. Then I saw your map. Nice one. I remember your Q3 days. Late nights.

what happened was…

i used to be a programmer…but i liked to make levels more than i liked to programm…so everyday i would come home from work and work on my maps till 1am…before going back to sleep…

had to do this as i did not have internet back in those days…and i was learning to make maps for Quake3…

then when i finally got an internet connection…Quake3World happened…good old days…mapping, trickjumping…

hopefully if everything works out…it will be like the good old days…

two bdays in a week…crazy…markus and dag

running around to get the three rolls of film dev and scanned and make prints of the digi stuff…crazy

we have two pro labs in Oslo Studio Technika and redlab…

i usually get everything done at Studio Technika…which sadly is also the most expensive lab in norway…

so this time i decided to try something diff…for one the guy who runs redlab is nicolay’s friend

i get to the lab to learn that he can only dev it and and neither scan or print it…he directed me to akerfoto to get the film scanned….

nice…i am being ironic

so this is what happened…

day 1
goto redlab, give negs for dev,
goto japanphoto to get the 50/1.8 for markus…out of stock,
goto fotoknudsen buy lens

day 2
goto studio technika, give 2 digi images for 30×45,

day 3
goto redlab, pickup negs,
goto akerfoto, give negs…machine broken…will take a day to scan 3 negs, buy a 30×45 frame for the prints,
goto studio technika, pickup prints,
get back home, frame is 30×45 and image area is 20x something…damn,

day 4
goto akerfoto, replace frame, film not scanned yet,
goto akerfoto after a hour, pick up scans…

thats the story of my life this week…

at least…on wednesday we had wine and helga had baked the most awesome cake/icecream thingy…and then made some stop-motion stuff with the eye-toy helga bought for markus

saturday…nearly missed the bus to dags party…good food again…some tapas stuff…i am bored of beer…yeah yeah…whatever…most of the gang left for oslo and managed to leave me and few other people behind…assholes…yes i am pissed…4 days of up down…and then being left behind…hmm…not good…bad karma i tell you…anyways…got a free ride back home…all good

not really happy with the digi stuff…for some reason most of the focus was off…have to find out why…
