Norway 2011 Part 1 | Leknes, Nusfjord, Bodø, Svartisen
I left Norway (moved to Germany) about a year ago in 2010. I had been to Bergen and Kristiansand while I lived there. But I never traveled up north. Luckily Sara is from Leknes in Lofoten and this year I went back to Norway to check out the beautiful coastline.
The plan was to fly to Lofoten and then drive to Oslo. Sounds fairly straightforward but it was not. After spending some time on expedia, I soon realized that the only way i could get there was by a 12 hour trip involving 4 plane rides. From Lofoten we drove down to Oslo stopping every night to camp.
The route was about 2000 kms Leknes – Bodo – Svartisen – Vega – Brønnøysund – Trondheim – Molde – Trollstigen – Geiranger – Oslo – Asker

we drove to Nusfjord to check out an old fishing village

fish soup, over the course of the trip i started enjoying fish…crazy
picked up some stuff to barbecue that night
later that night we played Settlers
and went Bowling at midnight…sun still shining as we were above the Arctic circle
said goodbye to saras mom and brother and started the epic road trip
but first…a look at the map

night fell and we decided to camp
it rained overnight…and we headed to Bodo
where things got worst…as it was raining sideways, we bought fresh shrimps and left Bodo
stopped for lunch and had the shrimps we bought at Bodo
we passed Svartisen which is the second biggest Glacier in Norway
lots of ferries
next stop…the beautiful island of Vega
