in ICA, after taking the shot i realized that the camera was turned off…and assumed the frame was wasted…but for some strange reason it seems to have metered properly

on my way to oslo city to meet up with olve and maja

free chocolate at oslo city…

the plan was to goto Jacobs at holtet which is a village outside oslo (so says the wiki)

the girls spotted a flea market…where i found this

this is where i picked up some awesome russian glasses for 25nok

all done…we went to Jacobs…while the others bought food…i bought ice cream and dessert

heading back home…this pic is how they are…maja is the serious one…while olve is the crazy one(compared to other norwegians)…works pretty well

how to make prawns pulao…onions + potatoes + prawns

saute onions + garlic + ginger + pepper + red chillies + salt

add prawns + salt + coriander

add potatoes + salt + turmeric

add 1 cup water + simmer fpr 20 mins [This is now a Bhaji]

If the Bhaji had gravy and could be poured over rice then it would be a Curry
Masala = Spices
Bhaji = dry dish, is a side dish
Curry = wet dish, is poured over rice
Pulao = when rice is cooked with stuff

take the bhaji and mix with rice and cook [This is now a Pulao]

Biryani is a kind of pulao
Biryani is NOT a curry

all this because in the canteen they had written Biryani Curry in the menu…so much for ignorance

another roll of tmax, this time with the om2 + 35-70/4. Chose the om2 and set it to aperture priority as i would have to zoom with the lens. I am not good at multitasking when it comes to cameras, hence all the prime lenses. This roll turned out better than the earlier one…even though its pushed by 2 stops and shot with an average lens…i love my lab.

trying the zuiko 100/2.8 on the 5D. I did not want to splurge money on a ef 100/2, so i bought this adapter that lets me use my zuiko lenses with the 5d. The lens is fantastic, even at 2.8 and renders quite differently from the ef lenses. Or maybe its all placebo.

got the adapter in this…all the stamps have dogs on them…i died a bit

Funcom Christmas party at the Grand Hotel Oslo

Had dinner at Mr Hong with the gang. Mike left for China the next day. It was an eat all you can buffet, was ok. Nothing fancy.

After dinner met up with Olve and Maja to watch Slumdog Millionaire, which was also an ok movie. Satya and Company is much much better then it.

Went to the Funcom Christmas party at the Grand Hotel. Had to *Suit Up*, the food was Excellent so was the drinks and the music.

Bought some Thai take away from Nam Fah today

Spent more time than usual getting the white balance right, which was problematic as half of the shots were taken without flash and the other half was with flash.

usual week…relaxed work.

Snowed a lot this week. Glad that I bought the new jackets from Spain.

We had the Funcom presentation earlier this week where all the teams showed what we were working on…Conan, Secret work…and stuff i cannot talk about. Was nice to see one of my levels on the big screen. Hopefully the players will like it, will add it to the Level Design section in a few days.

One of my poto was published in a Norwegian newspaper this week. So I collected all the stuff that has been published so far.

Last Friday at Funcom 2008

So…another year draws to an end. 2008…was the usual…up’s and down’s. For one, Age Of Conan was released, I have stuck to a studio for more than 2 years. So at least two goals were fulfilled. Met some fantastic people…traveled to some exciting places. Cant complain much.

As usual I had some Christmas anxiety, being all by myself for two weeks…no work to do. I love my work…given a choice I would work. But being in Norway and all…forced to take two weeks of vacation. Last year I went to London to meet Surhud. This year Satish and Sid are coming over to Oslo. Should be fun. And we will be going to Barcelona for a week.

I need some sun and some beach and some good food.

Anyways…last friday at work for this year.

friday beers…lot of people. It was Johanases last day at work.
